Sunday
Reflect on the weekly readings with the following questions:
Paul charges Timothy to preach the Word and be prepared in every season (v. 2). How can you be more intentional about sharing the gospel and encouraging others in their faith, whether in words or actions?
Paul warns that people will turn away from the truth and follow teachers who say what they want to hear (v. 3-4). How can you stay rooted in biblical truth, even when it is challenging or unpopular?
Paul says he has fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith (v. 7). What steps can you take today to ensure that you remain faithful to God throughout your life?
Despite being abandoned by some, Paul says that the Lord stood by him and gave him strength (v. 16-17). When have you experienced God’s presence in a difficult time? How can you rely on His strength in your current struggles?
Paul expresses confidence that God will bring him safely into His heavenly kingdom (v. 18). How does having an eternal perspective affect the way you live your daily life? What helps you stay focused on God’s promise of eternal life?
